The Business Chamber goes from strength to strength as it welcomes two new committee members.
Philip Lancaster, a financial adviser from Tynemouth and Ken Mosely, an IT specialist from North Shields will take their place on the committee from the beginning of January.
They bring with them a wealth of experience which will dovetail with the skills set of the rest of the committee members. This ensures that the Chamber has an influential voice on the local and regional stage to represent its member’s interests.
Phil graduated from St Andrews University with a first-class master’s degree in Economics before joining Coutts in London as an Investment Fund Analyst.
Returning to his native North East in 2016, Phil set up Lancaster Wealth & Investment Management, an Associate Partner of St. James’s Place Wealth Management plc.
“I’ve spent several years in Wealth & Investment Management, providing bespoke advice, and specialising in expert investment analysis,” said Phil.
“I enjoy building relationships and working with professionals in the North East. I see my role on the North Shields Business Chamber as an ideal way to work collaboratively with business in the area, developing networking opportunities which will see businesses support each other. I’m really looking forward to representing our members and helping to ensure the Chamber is at the heart of a forward-thinking and dynamic North Tyneside.”
Ken Mosely is the MD of Canny Clever, an IT services and telecoms provider, based at the Royal Quays shopping centre. He has worked in the IT sector throughout his career in both public and private sector roles.
He has been involved with the Chamber for many years and is looking forward to being more involved in developing the strategic direction of the Chamber.
“There are so many opportunities for businesses to share their experiences and support each other,” he said. “We need to drive our membership numbers up and encourage more young, entrepreneurial people to join up.”
“The Covid-19 lockdown and restrictions have provde that we need to support each other. I would like to see the Chamber develop an online forum that provides free advice and a library of resources. It would be a place where members can share their own experiences and help other businesses avoid any pitfalls they have faced. That would be invaluable for many businesses.
“I’m also keen that we continue to work with our neighbours in Wallsend and Whitley Bay to drive the ‘Buy Local’ agenda forward.”
Phil and Ken join Rob Gibbons (Chair), David Hodgson (Treasurer), Lou Laggan (Secretary), Yinka Sobo, David Bavaird, David Simpson, Peter Martin, Stephen Minns and Anj Doshi on the committee.
